The 2017 „Start Up Energy Transition Awards“ have been granted and Hydrogenious was able to win in the category „Cleantech against Climate Change“ . Over 500 candidates from 66 countries had signed up for the award. On Monday the 20th of March 2017 a high-profile, international jury awarded one winner in each of the six awards categories during the „Start Up Energy Transition-Tech Festival“.
The Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) announced the „Start Up Energy Transition Award“ winners during an evening event of the „Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue“ – the German Federal Government’s international energy transition conference – which took place in parallel to the „Start Up Energy Transition-Tech Festival“. The winners of the other categories are BeeBryte from France (Urban Energy Transition), Sicoya from Germany (Future Production & Manufacturing), Thermal Energy Service Solutions Private Limited from India (Mobility meets Energy Transition) and ME SOLshare from Bangladesh (Platforms and Communities). The special award “Sustainable Future For All: Startup SDG 7” was handed to ColdHubs from Nigeria. We congratulate all additional winners!
The awards were presented by Patricia Espinosa, General Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); Thomas Birr, Senior Vice President of Innovation & Business Transformation (innogy); Dr Katrin Leonhardt, Director of the Credit Institute for Reconstruction (KfW); Felix Zhang, Group Executive Director of Envision Energy; Adnan Amin, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA); as well as Tanja Gönner, Board Spokesperson for the German Corporation for International Co-operation (GIZ).
